No. 9 Men's Lacrosse Stays Unbeaten with 19-3 Win Against AIC

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Led by a dominant defensive performance, the ninth-ranked Pace University men's lacrosse team earned a 19-3 win over AIC on Saturday afternoon. The victory keeps the Setters' perfect this season at 6-0, including a 2-0 record inside the NE10. 
 
Pace's fifth win so far by at least 11 goals featured a clean sheet until the 6:26 mark of the third quarter. The Setters scored the game's first 11 goals, including a 10-0 edge at halftime.
 
Pace's dominance also consisted of a new season-high of 25 caused turnovers, while posting a 39-20 advantage in ground balls.  
 
Offensively, Pace's trio of Tim Cairo (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River), Jake Veres (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) and Kyle Casey (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) were once again up to their scintillating ways. The three Setters combined for nine goals and 16 of Pace's 29 total points. 
 
Cairo led the way with five tallies and two assists, while Veres and Casey each put in a pair of goals and combined for five helpers. 
 
Cairo (26), Veres (29) and Casey (34) all now rank in the top-five of the NE10 in points this season.
 
Freshmen Daniel Zabbia (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West) and Joey Parisi (Blauvelt, N.Y. /Tappan Zee) joined in with two goals each, while six different Setters notched one goal apiece. 
 
Sophomore Maxwell Streety (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) finished 7-for-8 in face-off attempts en route to picking up a team-high six ground balls.
 
Senior goalkeeper Louis Ragusa (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) registered win No. 6 in net following a scoreless first half of work (two saves).
