PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In their 2022 season opener, the Pace University men's lacrosse team defeated Caldwell University, 22-4, at Pace Stadium.
The Setters dominated the game right out of the gate, taking a quick 4-0 lead just 10 minutes into the first quarter, but the scoring avalanche was only just commencing, as Pace put nine more in the back of the net in the second quarter, five in the third, and four in the fourth to win every quarter of the game.
Five Setters put in multiple goals on the afternoon, including one player with four tallies and two others with hat tricksÂ
Graduate student Kyle Casey (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) and senior Jake Veres (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) led the team in points with five apiece. Casey scored four goals and dished out one assist, while Veres recorded three scores to go along with two assists.
Junior Anthony Caputo (Westbury, N.Y./W.T Clarke) finished with a team-high three assists in conjunction with one goal for four points.
Senior goalkeeper Louis Ragusa (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown) was awarded the win, finishing with five saves in goal.
