PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Fresh off two more wins last week, the Pace University women's basketball team remained second in the latest D2SIDA East Region Poll. The Setters, who also received one first-place vote on Monday, sit behind just Bentley in the weekly rankings.
Â
Pace continued its sensational campaign with triumphs over New Haven (58-43) and Saint Rose (70-62) to improve their record to 17-4 overall. The Blue and Gold are also tied with Le Moyne atop the NE10 Southwest Division at 11-3 in conference play.
Â
Lauren Schetter (Beacon, N.Y./Beacon High School) was up to her usual ways last week, leading the Setters in almost every statistical category. She was especially impressive on Saturday when she poured in a career-high 33 points, including 18 in the fourth quarter, during a road win at Saint Rose.
Â
Schetter, who currently leads the NE10 in scoring (20.7 ppg), also chipped in 16 rebounds, seven steals and four assists in the two wins last week.
Â
Senior guard
Lauren Hackett (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's) joins Schetter in averaging double figures for Pace, while also ranking fifth in the NE10 in assists per game (4.7).
Â
Team defense has told the story in the Setters' 17 wins this season. Pace leads the NE10 in both points-per-game allowed (56.5) and opponents' field-goal percentage (36.3%).

The Pace women's basketball team returns to action tomorrow night at SCSU (5:30 p.m.).
