BURLINGTON, Vermont – The Pace men's cross country team started postseason racing at the Norhteast-10 Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 5.
The first Setter to cross the finish line was junior
CJ Defeo (East Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue Medford) with a time of 35:36.1, splitting the course with a 7:10-mile time. Running closely with Defeo was rookie Francesco Dibona with a finish of 36:47.7 (7.24/mile).
The final four Pace runners finished in a group with senior
Ceasar Lugo (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) (41:11.0), senior
Ryan Murphy (Hawthorne, N.Y./Westlake) (42:58.7), senior
Nicholas Becker (Lynbrook, N.Y./East Rockaway) (44:21.3) and sophomore
Reice Jansson () (53:50.1).
Murphy had a season best in the 8K with a 8:39 mile.
As a team, the Setters finished 13th out of 13 with a score of 428, the average time of 40:11.0.
Next up, Pace will compete at the NCAA East Regional at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y. on Nov. 19.
