NEW BRITAIN, CT. – For the second time this fall, Pace men's and women's cross country competed, this time at the Ted Owen Invite hosted by Central Connecticut State University.
Pace ran through Stanley Quarter Park as the women posted a ninth-place finish (304 points) while the men finished 11
th with 359 points. The event took place in New Britain, CT. and it consisted of several Division I colleges alongside Division II competitors.
In the women's 5K event, Pace was led by the trio of
Raelle Gorman (21:19:7),
Rebekah Espiritu (22:14:9), and Jasmine Alvarado (22:28:9).
Meryl Mizell (22:52:3), and
Inara Coles (24:10:9) followed closely behind for the Blue and Gold.
For the men's 8K, the Setters were highlighted by
Adem Ozkurt as the sophomore posted a time of 30:11:1. The tandem of
Derek Bustillo (31:29:3),
Richard Christie (32:12:2), and
Carlos Zhicay (34:26:9) rounded out the rest of the times for Pace.
The next event for Pace cross country is set for next Saturday at 10:30 a.m. as the Setters take on the Fred Pavlich Invite hosted by Bard College.
