PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Beginning a three-game stretch against ranked opponents, the seventh-ranked Pace University men's lacrosse team was defeated by No. 6 Le Moyne on Saturday by a final score of 11-6. The loss moves the Setters' record this season to 8-2 overall, and 4-2 inside the NE10.
A strong opening half for the Dolphins set the tone on Saturday. A third consecutive goal from Colin Sypek at the 7:17 mark of the second quarter provided Le Moyne with a 6-1 lead.
The Dolphins' edge would grow to as large as 10-3 early on in the fourth quarter.
Pace's leading point-scorer this year,
Daniel Keenan (Mount Sinai, NY/Mount Sinai), once again piloted the offense on Saturday. The senior registered three points off two goals and an assist. He now has totaled a team-high 25 goals and 49 points this season.
Wyatt Barfoot (Georgian Bluffs, Ontario/St. Mary's),
Bradley Paterson (Caldwell, NJ/Depaul Catholic),
Tomas Rodriguez (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown / UMBC), and
Vincent Vasheo (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) also found the back of the net for Pace. Barfoot chipped in an assist as well to finish with a pair of points.
Freshman goalkeeper
Louis Ragusa (Yorktown Heights, NY/Yorktown) put together 14 stops in net, finishing the game with a save percentage of .560.
