PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Wrapping up their 2019 campaign, the Pace University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the NCAA East Regional on Saturday in Philadelphia, Pa. The Setters completed their time in Pennsylvania with the women's team placing 19
th and the men's team finishing 23
rd overall.
Women's Recap (6K, 510 points)
In their last meet of the season, the trio of
Juliet Rich (New York, N.Y./Trevor Day School),
Heaven Swan (Wingdale, N.Y./Dover) and
Camryn Podgorski (Brewster, N.Y./Brewster) once again led the way.
Rich served as the top scorer, placing 81
st with a time of 25:18.0. Swan and Podgorski followed close behind with the sophomore clinching 84
th place with a time of 25:21.2 and the senior captain taking 90
th with a time of 25:29.7.
Sophomore
Crystal Raines (Roosevelt, N.J./Hightstown) was the fourth Setter to cross the finish line, placing 143
rd overall with a time of 29:22.7.
Freshman
Lauren Curcio (Staten Island, N.Y./New Dorp) rounded out the Blue and Gold's scoring, coming in at 145
th with a registered time of 29:26.0.
Men's Recap (10K, 634 points)
Killian McCole (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) piloted the Blue and Gold in their final meet of the year. The sophomore clocked a 10k of 35:26.6 to finish in 88
th place.
Senior
Ricky Harris (West Harrison, N.Y./Harrison) finished second for the Setters and 128
th overall, posting a time of 37:51.8. Sophomore
Ryan Oakes (Scarsdale, N.Y./Eastchester) was quick to follow, registering a mark of 37:58.7 to earn 130
th place.
Again, the rookie duo of
Sean Lowery (Staten Island, N.Y./Monsignor Farrell) and
Ceasar Lugo (Bronx, N.Y./Cardinal Spellman) rounded out Pace's efforts in Pennsylvania, much like the NE10 Championships the previous week. Lowery finished in 146
th place with a time of 39:57.9, while Lugo came in directly after at 39:59.0 to hold 147
th.
