PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – It's crunch time at Pace University as the spring sports squads gear up for a pivotal weekend of action. Baseball looks to close out the schedule strong heading into a three-game weekend series, while women's lacrosse and softball each get set for semifinal matchups in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Tournament.

After winning their opening round game of the NE10 Tournament on Thursday, the Setters will now take on No. 24 Saint Anselm in the semifinals on Friday. It will be a battle between the No. 2 seed in the Southwest (Pace) and the top seed in the Northeast (Saint Anselm).
Sophomore Emma Bernet (Baldwinsville, NY/Charles W Baker), who was named to the NE10 All-Conference First Team on Wednesday, led the Blue and Gold to a 3-1 win over Merrimack College in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Bernet outdueled NE10 Pitcher of the Year, Megan Cook, allowing just one run and three hits in her 16th complete game of the year. Bernet improved to 14-5 this season while her NE10-best ERA remains a remarkable 1.11.
Offensively, Larissa Labs (Carlsbad, CA/San Marcos High School) and Ashley Lew (New City, NY/Clarkstown High School North) accounted for four of the Setters' five hits, finishing the day 4-for-4 with a walk. Labs also knocked in two of the three runs for Pace with RBI hits in the third and the fifth innings.
It will be a matchup of win streaks between Pace and Saint Anselm on Friday. The Setters enter the game having won 10 contests in a row, while the Hawks are riding a 13-game win streak of their own. Saint Anselm swept a doubleheader against Pace earlier this season in Pleasantville.

The Lions head into the final weekend at 26-19, winners of three straight. Molloy took three of four against LIU Post over the weekend their last time out. Friday will be the first time since 2011 that the Setters and Lions have met. Pace holds a 4-2 record in all-time meetings against Molloy.

Following the first postseason win in program history on Wednesday night, the No. 15 Setters have advanced to the Final Four of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Tournament. Third-seeded Pace will meet the second seed, No. 4 Le Moyne, in Garden City on Saturday.
The Setters defeated Bentley 18-10 in the first-round matchup, using an 11-2 run in the second half to storm past the Falcons. Pace finished a perfect 10-0 at home this year with the win. Jillian Oross (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) made 16 saves, a new career-high for the senior netminder. Angela Kelly (Garnerville, NY/North Rockland) also set a new career high with six goals, while Casey Gelderman (Farmingville, NY/Sachem High School East) continued to add to her program records with a four-goal night. Abby Haimson (Montville, NJ/Montville) and Courtney Pabst (East Patchogue, NY/Bellport) combined for nine points.
Le Moyne advanced to the semifinals with an 18-1 victory over seventh-seeded Saint Anselm. It is the fourth straight year that the Dolphins have made the Final Four. The Setters aim to rewrite the script to continue their incredible season and avenge their regular-season meeting with Le Moyne, which the Dolphins won 13-6 in Syracuse.
