How it Happened
The Setters opened the game in a dominant manner, running out to a 6-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Diggle got the scoring started at the 11:15 mark, burying a feed from Brennan. The Yellow Jackets were held to just two shots in the period as the Setter attack continued to contain in the offensive zone. Pace scored three times in the closing 2:30 with a goal by Vasheo and Paterson's first two of the night.

Holding the six-goal advantage, the Setters turned to a control-heavy strategy for the second quarter. Barfoot extended the Pace lead up to 7-0 at the 8:52 mark. AIC was unable to record a shot until under three minutes remaining in the half when Rawill Herrera put the Yellow Jackets on the board for the first time on the night. Pace would strike last however, as Paterson scored his third goal of the night with under a minute on the clock to send the Blue and Gold into the half up 8-1.

Pace opened the second half in the same dominant manner that they opened the first, scoring six unanswered goals in the third period. Peter Bashar (Stratford, CT/St. Joseph) set the tone of the quarter early, scoring less than 30 seconds into the half. Paterson added his final two goals of the night, ultimately extending the Pace lead up to 12-1. Goals from Gadaleta and January gave the Setters a 14-1 advantage heading into the closing 15 minutes.

The Yellow Jackets began the fourth with five consecutive goals to cut into the Pace lead, trailing the Setters 14-6 with 8:39 remaining in regulation. That would be all the AIC attack would be able to muster, as the Setters ended the contest on a 2-0 run with goals from Gadaleta and Mittleman to secure the 16-6 win.
