PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Wednesday concludes the penultimate homestand of the regular season for the Pace University women's and men's basketball teams, as the Setters will look to hit the road on a high note. The Setters aim to get back into the win column on Wednesday when they tip-off for game one of Wednesday's doubleheader against AIC. Pace enters play at 10-11 on the year, and sit at .500 in the conference with a 7-7 mark against the NE10.
The Blue and Gold put together a valiant effort against No. 3 Bentley University on Saturday before falling just short, 72-66.
Alexandra Monteleone (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) was the leading scorer for both teams, pouring in 23 points. Her seventh 20-plus effort of the season brings her average to a team-best 13.3 points per game. Monteleone also tied
Italee Brown-Smikle (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) for the team lead in rebounds for the night with six.
Kristina Olikhver (Moscow, Russia/Saint Andrew's) added 14 points for the Setters offensively, setting a new season-high. The junior guard has reached double figures in three of the last five games.
AIC comes to Pleasantville at 9-13 on the season with a 3-11 record in the conference. The Yellow Jackets snapped a five-game skid on Saturday, defeating Franklin Pierce, 65-49. The AIC offense is led by Dana Watts, who sits atop the NE10 in both points (20.5) and rebounds per game (10.7). The Setters defeated AIC on the road earlier this season, picking up the 65-55 victory on Nov. 29.

The Setters close out the night on the hardwood against AIC, looking to avenge their loss to the Yellow Jackets earlier in the season.
Pace dropped a tightly contested matchup against Bentley on Saturday, 75-74.
Peyton Wejnert (Point Pleasant, NJ/Southern Regional) continued to be an offensive force, matching his career-high with 26 points. The sophomore forward now leads the Blue and Gold, averaging 14.1 points per game.
Brandon Jacobs (Cambria Heights, NY/Long Island Lutheran) added 17 points, to go along with a team-high seven rebounds, while
Greg Poleon (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln / Coffeyville CC) made it eight consecutive contests with double figures on the scoresheet with 15 points.
The Yellow Jackets are 11-10 heading into the Wednesday night showdown, and are 6-7 against the NE10. An 86-83 victory over Franklin Pierce on Saturday has made AIC 3-1 in their last four games.
