PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The No. 8 Pace University men's lacrosse team dropped a tough Northeast-10 Conference matchup to defending National Champion No. 2 Le Moyne College by a score of 15-4 Wednesday afternoon at Pace Stadium.
FIRST QUARTER
- Le Moyne's Tom Koster scored the first goal of the game at the 10:02 mark.
- Dan Entenmann and Justin Kesselring then scored back-to-back for the Dolphins to put the visitors ahead, 3-0.
- Junior
Liam Brennan (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) fired one in with 50 seconds left in the period to get the Setters on the board, but Zac Prattson made a long shot for Le Moyne just before the buzzer to give the Dolphins a 4-1 lead heading into the second frame.
SECOND QUARTER
- The Dolphins tallied five straight goals to open the second quarter, giving them a 9-1 advantage.
- Junior Mike Pappalardo then got the Setters back on the board with 2:11 left in the half to make it a 9-2 game heading into the break.
THIRD QUARTER
- Le Moyne's Josh Slowinski scored the first goal of the second half at the 10:36 mark to give the Dolphins a 10-2 edge.
- Entenmann added another five minutes later to give the defending champs a nine-goal lead.
- Kesselring scored the third Dolphin goal of the frame with 57.6 left on the clock to give them a 12-2 advantage heading into the final quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The Setters got on the board first in the fourth when junior
Ryan O'Hagan (Watervliet, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) scored off a feed from sophomore
Daniel Keenan (Mount Sinai, NY/Mount Sinai) just 13 seconds into the period, bringing Pace back within nine.
- Koster scored again for Le Moyne with 11:27 on the clock to make it a 13-3 game.
- Bailey Wilkinson caused a turnover and took the ball the length of the field to score with 3:10 to give the Dolphins a 14-3 lead.
- Sophomore
Matthew Simone (Seaford, NY/Seaford) put one in the net for Pace with 1:31 to play to make it 14-4.
- Greg White added a man-down score for Le Moyne with 46 seconds remaining to leave the Dolphins with a 15-4 victory.
