GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – After falling behind early on, a 7-1 advantage in the second half helped the No. 8 Pace University men's lacrosse team pick up a huge Northeast-10 Conference victory over No. 3 Adelphi University by a score of 10-6 Tuesday evening at Motamed Field.
 
FIRST QUARTER
- Adelphi scored three times in the first six minutes to claim an early 3-0 advantage.
- Junior 
Joshua Kreitler (Shelton, CT/Shelton) got the Setters on the board at the 7:29 mark.
- Adelphi's Quintin McKenna added one more for the Panthers to give them a 4-1 edge heading into the second.
 
SECOND QUARTER
- Kreitler scored again to get Pace back within two.
- Nicolas Racalbuto got one back for the Panthers, but Kreitler scored once again just 40 seconds later to eventually send the game to the half with a 5-3 score in favor of the home team.
 
THIRD QUARTER
- Sophomore 
Matthew Simone (Seaford, NY/Seaford) scored the first goal of the half, and then sophomore 
John Kelly (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville) scored within 50 seconds of each other, accounting for the only scores of the third quarter to send the game to the final frame with an even 5-5 score.
 
FOURTH QUARTER
- Simone tallied another one early in the fourth, but Adelphi's Chris Racalbuto quickly tied it up again.
- Junior 
Liam Brennan (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) then scored back-to-back goals to put the Setters ahead by two with 7:03 to play.
- Sophomore 
Wyatt Barfoot (Georgian Bluffs, Ontario/St. Mary's) made it a three-goal game with 4:07 to go on a man-up goal, and then Kreitler netted his fourth of the evening with 2:54 left to cap off a big second half and make it 10-6.

Goalkeeper Notes
- Junior goalkeeper 
Robert Beshlian (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) had another big game, stopping 18 shots to keep the Setters ahead and earn his seventh win.
- Adelphi netminder Brendan McDougal made 11 saves, but allowed 10 goals to suffer his second defeat.
 
SETTER STATS
- Brennan and Kreitler matched with a team-high four points. Brennan scored twice and assisted two goals, while Kreitler hit the back of the net four times. Brennan also picked up three ground balls, while Kreitler grabbed two.
- Simone netted two, while sophomore 
Bradley Paterson (Caldwell, NJ/Depaul Catholic) dished out two assists. Simone also scooped up three ground balls and caused two turnovers.
- Senior 
Brandon Donnellan (Chester, NY/Warwick Valley) grabbed a game-high five ground balls.
 
PANTHER LEADERS
- Shane DeBoer scored a team-high two goals, while Michael Osmundsen dished out two assists.
- Ian Kirby scored once and assisted another goal for a two-point evening.
- Jack Thomann and Mark Andrejack matched for the team high with four ground balls.
 
HOW'D THEY STACK UP
- The Setters held a slight 40-38 edge in total shots, while the Panthers took a 34-31 lead in shots on goal.
- Pace won the ground-ball battle, 27-24.

WHAT'S NEXT?
- After back-to-back big wins over nationally-ranked programs, the Setters will next play on Saturday, April 15, when they host the College of Saint Rose in NE10 action at Pace Stadium. The opening faceoff is set for 12 p.m.
