PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – After a narrow loss to Dowling College on Saturday, the Pace University men's lacrosse team bounced back nicely with a decisive 18-5 victory over Dominican College on Wednesday at Pace Stadium. The Setters jump to 2-1 with the win, while the Chargers fall to 1-2. 
The Setters got things rolling early on when they took a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes. Sophomore 
Ryan O'Hagan (Watervliet, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) scored off an assist from sophomore 
Anthony Gadaleta (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park), and then returned the favored by setting up Gadaleta's score just a few minutes later. The Chargers scored two of their own in the first, but Pace added three more, capped off by an impressive shot by sophomore 
Liam Brennan (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) with five seconds left to take a 5-2 lead into the second period. 
It was all Setters for nearly the entire second quarter, as Pace scored seven straight goals. The Chargers finally got one back with 20 seconds left, leaving Pace up, 12-3, heading into the locker room. 
It was much of the same in the third, as Pace outscored the Chargers, 4-1, to take a 16-4 edge heading into the final frame. The Setters scored twice more, and allowed a late goal to the Chargers, leading to the 18-5 final. 
Brennan handed out four assists and scored once for a five-point game. Brennan also added four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Sophomores 
Trevor Chernoff (Coquitlam, BC/Gleneagle Secondary) and 
Ryan O'Hagan (Watervliet, NY/Christian Brothers Academy) both tallied four points in the win. Chernoff scored three times and added an assist, while O'Hagan picked up two goals and two helpers. 
Gadaleta, senior 
Matthew Cossidente (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue), freshman 
Bradley Paterson (Caldwell, NJ/Depaul Catholic), sophomore 
Joshua Kreitler (Shelton, CT/Shelton) and freshman 
Kevin Volgelsberg (Wantagh, NY/Holy Trinity Diocesan) all scored twice in the win. Freshman 
Vincent Vasheo (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) scored one goal and assisted another. Senior 
Matt Ruquet (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point / Manhattan College) won 14-of-21 face-offs (66.7 percent) and scooped up a game-high six ground balls. Junior 
Jeremy Wiley (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) caused four turnovers and grabbed two ground balls. 
Sophomore goalkeeper 
Robert Beshlian (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) played just over 42 minutes between the pipes, making seven saves while allowing just four goals to improve to 2-1 on the year. Dominican's Carlos Villaman shouldered the loss after making 13 saves and yielding 13 scores. 
Shaun Palmer and David Arent each scored twice for Dominican. Palmer led all Chargers with three points. Tyler Maher picked up four ground balls, while Phil Shields caused three turnovers. 
The Setters dominated offensively, firing off 60 shots to just 21 for the Chargers. They also managed 39 shots on goal, while Dominican put 13 on net. Pace grabbed 47 ground balls, while Dominican picked up 28. The Setters also won 17-of-25 face-offs. 
The Setters hit the road for the first time this season, as they take on Georgian Court University on Saturday, March 5. The opening face-off is set for 12 p.m.
