Men’s Lacrosse Cruises Past Southern New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, NH- The Pace men's lacrosse team jumped out to an early lead and cruised to an 18-7 win over the Southern New Hampshire Penmen in Northeast-10 Conference action.

The Setters improve to 4-5 on the season and 2-4 in the NE-10, while the Penmen fall to 1-9 and 1-6 in conference play.

Pace jumped out to an early lead as they built a 9-1 lead by halftime. Peter Sharp netted a pair of first half goals, while Christopher Brown tallied three goals in the first 30 minutes including a pair of man-up tallies. Wyatt Barfoot netted a goal and an assist in the first half, while Joshua Kreitler added a man-up score to help lead the Setters to a double digit halftime advantage.

The Setters continued to build on their lead in the second half as Liam Brennan scored a pair of early goals in the second half as Pace extended their lead to 11-1. The Penmen tallied a goal but Brown netted his fourth of the day, while Sharp posted a goal for push the Setters lead to 14-2. Brennan scored on the man-up opportunity off a Tyler Meigel assist, while Trevor Chernoff scored late in the quarter for a 15-3 lead.

Pace wrapped up its scoring on the afternoon as Brennan, Chernoff and Krietler scored for the Setters to lead 18-4 midway through the final quarter. The Penmen added four late goals but the Setters took home its second NE-10 victory of the season.  

For the Setters, Brennan led the way with four goals and one assist, while Brown netted four goals. Sharp tallied three goals and one assist, while Chernoff and Krietler each posted a pair of goals. Michael Bonitatibus recorded nine saves in 50 minutes of action.  

The Setters travel to American International College for an NE-10 clash on Tuesday, April 7 at 4 pm.
