Men’s Lacrosse Falls to #3 Le Moyne

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Setters battled with national #3 Le Moyne but fell short 14-5 in Northeast-10 Conference action.
 
Pace falls to 3-5 on the season and 1-4 in the NE-10, while the Dolphins improve to 8-1 and 6-0 in conference play.
 
The #3 Dolphins got off to an early start with four first quarter goals to build an early lead. Peter Sharp scored late in the quarter for Pace's first score of the game at the 2:24 mark.
 
Le Moyne added two goals in the second quarter but Pace again scored late in the half to close to gap Trevor Chernoff tallied the Setters goal with 3:10 left in the second quarter as Pace trailed the nationally ranked Le Moyne 6-2 at halftime.
 
The Dolphins scored four goals midway through the third quarter, including a pair of man-up tallies to extend their lead. The Setters also took advantage on the man-up as Matthew Cossidente scored at the 2:38 off a Wyatt Barfoot assist. Cossidente netted his ninth goal of the season two minutes late as he tallied a goal with just 15 ticks on the clock off a Liam Brennan assist.
 
The nationally ranked Dolphins kept the Setters at bay as they added four goals in the final quarter with Barfoot scoring the lone Pace goal of the game at the 12:15 mark.
 
For the Setters, Cossidente tallied two goals, while Barfoot finished with a goal and an assist. In net, Michael Bonitatibus played all 60 minutes for the Setters and recorded 16 saves.
 
The Setters travel to Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, April 4 for an NE-10 clash against Southern New Hampshire at 1 pm.
