SOFTBALL SPLITS TWIN BILL
WITH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL
SPRINGFIELD, MA - Christina Pane (Stony Point, NY/Cardinal Spellman) (Stony Point,
NY/Cardinal Spellman) went 3-for-7 in the doubleheader
with a triple and one RBI to lead the Setters to a doubleheader
split against American International in Northeast-10 Conference
softball action. The Setters move their record to 14-12 overall and
3-7 in the NE-10, while the Yellow Jackets are now13-16 and 4-10 in
conference play.
Pace fell in the opener 5-2 as the Setters were limited to five
hits in the game with Pane and Kelly Kinyon (Levittown, PA/Harry S. Truman) (Levittown,
PA/Harry S Truman) each had a pair of hits in the game. On
the mound, Kiryl Shada (Pleasant Prairie, WI/Tremper) (Pleasant Prairie,
WI/Tremper) (6-6) tossed a complete game allowing five
runs on seven hits, while striking out three.
The Setters rallied in game two as the pitching tandem of
Alicia Parlon (Norton, MA/Norton) (Norton, MA/Norton) and
Christina Rescigno (Elmsford, NY/Good Counsel Academy) (Elmsford, NY/Good Counsel
Academy) limited the Yellow Jacket offense to three hits.
Pace used a three-run fourth inning to jump into the lead as
Amanda Dague's (Spring, TX/Klein Collins) (Spring YX/Klein Collins) two-run
double was the key hit in the rally.
Parlon tossed 3 1/3 innings, allowing two hits and one run,
while Rescigno came on in relief going the final 3 2/3, giving up
one hit and struck out one to pick up the win.
The Setters return to action when they host Saint Anselm on
Saturday, April in a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader scheduled
for a 1:00 pm start on Pace's Briarcliff campus.
