Box Score FIVE IN DOUBLE FIGURES AS PACE BEATS BRYANT, 80-52
PLEASANTVILLE, NY – Ashley Wallace's (Oswego, NY/Oswego)
(Oswego, NY/Oswego) 20 points and 10 rebounds were the
highlight of the Setters 80-52 win over Bryant University.
Beside Wallace, Pace had four other players finish in double
figures as they improve to 15-4 overall and 10-4 in the
Northeast-10 Conference. The win is the Setters'
5th consecutive. Bryant falls to 3-15 overall and
0-13 in NE-10 action.
Wallace abused the Bryant lineup to the tune of 8-of-14 shooting
over 26 minutes. Sophomore Stephanie Klingele (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) (Staten
Island, NY/ St. John Villa) totaled 17 points after
hitting on 5-of-11 from the floor, including 4-of-6 from 3-point
range. Klingele also had three assists and four steals.
Senior Andrea Padelsky (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon)
continued on her quest for 200 3-pointers, knocking down numbers
193 and 194 on her way to a 14-point night. Sophomore
Stephanie Rossmy (Staten Island, NY/St. John Villa) (Staten Island, NY/ St. John
Villa) scored 14 points in 14 minutes and Maria
Brown (Frederick, MD/ Frederick) totaled 13 points, six
rebounds, three assists and two steals.
For Bryant, Joanna Skiba (Providence, RI/ Classical) totaled 13
points and seven assists while Lauren Rubenoff (New Hartford, CT/
Northwest Regional) had 12 points in the game. As a team,
Bryant shot 40% from the floor (22-55) including 26.3% (5-19) from
3-point range. The Bulldogs turned the ball over 26 times and
were outrebounded by the Setters, 49-32.
Hannah Sheppard (Norwich, Conn./Norwich Free Academy) (Norwich, CT/ Norwich) grabbed
10 rebounds, seven on the offensive end, but failed to score.
Jesse Dlabola (Levittown, NY/Holy Trinity/Adelpi Univ.) (Levittown, NY/ Holy Trinity) was
also scoreless, but totaled nine assists, six rebounds and three
steals.
As a team, Pace shot 43.1% (31-72) from the floor and 33.3%
(7-21) from long range. Pace also hit on 11-of-17 from the
free throw line. Amazingly, Pace finished the game with 29 assists
on 31 field goals.
Pace led by eight points at halftime, 33-25, but outscored the
Bulldogs, 22-6 over the first 6:36 off the second half to take a
55-31 lead with just over 13 minutes to play. Pace
would hit their biggest lead of the night at the 2:29 mark at
78-47. Rossmy would score 10 of her 12 points in the last six
minutes of regulation, while also accounting for 10 of Pace's
final 11 points.
The Setters return to action when they travel to Springfield, MA
on Thursday, January 24th when they take on the Yellow
Jackets of American International College in a Northeast-10
Conference match-up slated for a 5:30 p.m. start.
