Women’s Soccer Earns Home Victory Against Felician

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Three different Setters found the back of the net as Pace University Women's Soccer held off Felician University for a 3-2 victory Saturday evening at Northwell Stadium, improving to 4-1 on the season and extending its winning streak to two matches.

Pace struck first in the 10th minute. Aryanna Secia helped create the opening opportunity, setting up Kaelyn Reinhard for the finish at 9:35 and a 1-0 advantage. The Setters carried that lead into halftime as Siena McCree turned away both Felician shots on goal in the opening 45 minutes.

Felician pulled even just over three minutes into the second half, but Pace regained control at 59:06. Simone Cassano found Bindiya Wadhwani, who converted to put the Setters back in front, 2-1.

An own-goal provided what proved to be the game-winner in the 73rd minute, as the Blueand Gold extended the advantage to 3-1. Felician answered at 78:12 to cut the margin to one, but McCree made three saves over the final 11 minutes to preserve the victory.

Reinhard, and Wadhwani accounted for two of Pace's three goals, while Secia and Cassano each recorded an assist. Alyssa Blanchette led the Setters with four shots, putting three on goal, while McCree finished with five saves. The teams were even at 14 shots apiece, with Pace holding an 11-7 advantage in shots on goal and a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

The Setters remain home Wednesday, Sept. 16, when they welcome Mercy University to Northwell Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
