PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace University women's soccer freshman Alyssa Blanchette was named both the Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week following a strong opening weekend for the Setters.
The Colchester, CT. native helped Pace begin the 2026 season with a 2-0 record, highlighted by a six-point performance in a 5-1 victory over Dominican University of New York. In just her second collegiate appearance, Blanchette scored two goals and added two assists, factoring into four of the Setters five goals in the win.
Blanchette helped Pace build an early advantage with an assist on the opening goal before finding the back of the net herself later in the first half. She continued her impact after halftime, adding another assist before scoring her second goal of the afternoon.
The freshman finished the match with six points while helping Pace pull away for its second victory of the season. Blanchette also appeared in the Setters season-opening win over Goldey-Beacom, helping Pace complete a perfect opening week. The two weekly awards are the first NE10 honors of Blanchette's collegiate career.
Pace returns to action Thursday, Sept. 3, when the Setters travel to Caldwell University for a 4:00 p.m. match-up.
