WILMINGTON, DEL. – Pace University Women's Soccer opened the 2026 season on a winning note Friday afternoon, securing a 2-0 road victory over Goldey-Beacom College at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field. The Setters begin the season at 1-0 following the shutout performance.
The Blue and Gold generated opportunities throughout the opening half, recording 11 shots while earning three corner kicks. Siena McCree kept Goldey-Beacom off the board on the other end, turning away four shots on goal during the first 45 minutes.
After nearly 40 minutes of scoreless action, Bindiya Wadhwani broke through for the Setters at 39:31. Meredith Klosek set up Wadhwani for her first goal of the season, sending the Blue and Gold into halftime with a 1-0 advantage.
The Setters continued to push for another goal after the break while the defense limited the Lightning to just four second-half shots. McCree made her fifth save of the afternoon in the 54th minute, and the Blue and Gold did not allow another shot on goal the rest of the way.
Ava Jordan provided the insurance in the 78th minute. After creating several chances throughout the afternoon, Jordan found the back of the net at 77:10 for her first goal of the season, extending the lead to 2-0.
Jordan finished with a game-high nine shots, including two on goal, while Wadhwani accounted for the other tally. The Setters outshot Goldey-Beacom 22-13 and held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.
McCree completed the season-opening shutout with five saves across 90 minutes, earning her first victory of the year.
The Setters remain on the road Sunday, Aug. 30, traveling to Orangeburg, N.Y., for an 11:00 a.m. matchup against Dominican University of New York.
