Stabile Honored with President’s Award for Outstanding Contribution

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – A cornerstone of Pace University Athletics for more than four decades, Claudia Stabile has been named a recipient of the President's Award for Outstanding Contribution on the Pleasantville, N.Y. campus, as selected by the Pace Awards Committee.

Now in her 45th campaign leading the Setters softball program, Stabile recently reached another historic milestone this season, earning her 900th career NCAA victory. Since taking over the program in 1982, she has built one of the most successful and respected programs in NCAA Division II.

Her impact was on full display during the 2025 season, when she guided the Setters to a historic campaign that included the Northeast 10 Conference Championship, the NCAA East Super Regional title, and the program's first-ever NCAA Division II Final Four appearance. Pace set single-season program records with 48 wins, 20 conference victories, and a 27-game win streak, marking the most accomplished season in program history.

In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Stabile serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Student Success and Services and the Senior Woman Administrator, now in her 11th year in the role. She plays an integral part in supporting student-athletes academically while also leading initiatives related to gender equity and Title IX within the department.

Her commitment to student-athlete development is evident through programs such as the Setters Leadership Academy, which connects student-athletes with faculty and staff across campus to promote growth in academics, mental health, and career readiness.

Widely respected across the Pace community, Stabile is known for her mentorship and exceptional dedication to student success. Her influence extends far beyond the field, shaping generations of Setters and leaving a lasting legacy on the Pleasantville campus.

The President's Award recognizes a career defined by leadership, excellence, and service, as Stabile continues to exemplify all the key values of Pace University.
