PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace University Women's Lacrosse junior defender
Colleen Gilligan has been named Northeast 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Gilligan played a pivotal role in Pace's tightly contested 16–15 matchup against West Chester, delivering a standout defensive performance for the Blue and Gold. The junior recorded a team-high five caused turnovers, repeatedly disrupting offensive possessions and helping the Setters generate key stops throughout the contest.
In addition to forcing turnovers, Gilligan added two ground balls and one draw control, contributing in multiple facets while helping limit the Golden Rams' scoring opportunities. The honor marks the second consecutive defensive player of the week award for the Blue and Gold.
Gilligan's effort continues a strong start to the season for the Setters' defensive unit.
