Men’s Basketball Drops Conference Tilt to RV Bentley

WALTHAM, MA. – Pace University Men's Basketball saw its five-game winning streak come to an end Wednesday night as RV Bentley University secured a commanding Northeast 10 (NE10) victory over the Blue and Gold. The Setters competed through the opening stretch before Bentley created separation prior to halftime at the Charles A. Dana Center, moving Pace to 15–9 overall and 10–6 in NE10 play.

Pace opened sharply, jumping in front 7–4 behind interior finishes from Saif Saleh and strong ball movement that led to an early three from Ben Manuel. The Setters kept the game level at 9–9 midway through the half and answered an early Bentley push with quick paint touches to stay within 20–16.

Bentley flipped momentum with a sustained 14–2 run late in the first half, turning a two-possession game into a double-digit advantage. Pace struggled to generate clean looks during that stretch, and the Falcons capitalized in transition and from the perimeter to carry a 45–26 lead into the break.

The Setters looked to reset in the second half. Jaden Kealey ignited the offense with an early dunk that sparked a brief 7–2 Pace stretch, trimming the deficit to 49–33. Jabari Nurse attacked downhill to keep pressure on the defense, and Ethan Robertson's three-pointer capped another small rally that cut the margin to 63–46 with under seven minutes remaining.

However, each time Pace threatened to string together momentum, Bentley answered. The Falcons responded with an 8–0 burst midway through the second half to push the lead back beyond 20 and limit the Setters comeback attempt. From there, Bentley controlled the court and closed out the 77–56 final.

Saleh led Pace with 19 points on a perfect 8-of-8 shooting night, including two three-pointers. Manuel and Kealey each added nine points, while Nurse contributed seven points and five assists.

The Blue and Gold return to the Goldstein Fitness Center on Saturday for Senior Day, hosting Southern New Hampshire University in a championship rematch at 3:30 p.m.
