Carr Strikes in Second Half as Pace Drops Matchup Versus Franklin Pierce

RINDGE, N.H. – In a back-and-forth contest under the lights in New Hampshire, Pace University Women's Soccer battled until the final whistle before being defeated by Franklin Pierce University, 2-1. The Setters, now 3-3 overall, erased a first-half deficit with a goal from Allison Carr, but the Ravens found a late winner to hand Pace a narrow in-conference setback.

The match opened with both squads trading early opportunities, but in the 15th minute, Franklin Pierce broke through to grab a 1-0 lead. Despite conceding the early tally, the Setters stayed composed and built momentum before halftime, earning a pair of corners and pressing into the attacking third.

Pace came out of the locker room with renewed urgency, and the persistence paid off in the 56th minute when Carr struck to even the score at 1-1. The equalizer swung momentum to the Setters, who continued to push forward with looks from Olson, Ava Viebrock, and Kyra Sienkiewicz.

The Ravens, however, managed to regain control in the 75th minute, converting on one of their limited second-half chances to move back in front. Despite late efforts from Carr and her teammates, the Setters were unable to find a second equalizer.

Carr and Olson led the offensive push with two attempts apiece, while Viebrock, Sienkiewicz, and Alexis Lee each added to the attack. Fiore played the full 90 minutes in net, registering four saves to anchor the defensive unit.

The Setters will return to Pleasantville, N.Y., on Tuesday, hosting Molloy University in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Northwell Stadium.
