MANCHESTER, NH - #8 Pace Women's Lacrosse traveled to Southern New Hampshire University for a Northeast-10 (NE10) Conference match up Saturday morning.
In the event, the Setters secured the 18-6 victory to remain undefeated in conference play, 5-0, and head coach,
Tricia Molfetta, captured her 100th victory with the Pace program.
Here's What Happened:
- A shut out first quarter for the Setters allowed the squad to secure a 7-0 advantage on goals by Maddie Schubert, Lisa Heffernan, Gigi Genovese, and Annie Sheehan.
- SNHU held the upper hand in the following frame after outscoring the Blue and Gold, 5-4. Despite the offensive efforts of the Penmen, the Setters maintained a 11-5 lead with the help of Mackenzie Carita and Sheehan.
- To ignite the second half, Pace held SNHU scoreless once again and went one to cage five to extend their lead to 16-5.
- Genovese ignited the fourth quarter with another goal for the Blue and Gold and the Penmen found the back of the net once more, 17-6. Schubert tallied the final goal of the contest and the Setter grasped the 18-6 victory to improve to 9-2 overall and 5-0 in NE10.
Box Score Insights:
- Carita led all scorers with four goals and an assist for five points followed by Sheehan who led in the points category with six on three goals and three assists.
- Schubert and Genovese finished with three goals of their own and Marissa Doty and Laura Luikart caged two.
- Alyssa Wolf and Sarah Scheidel caused two turnovers apiece and Sasha Kulo had eight draws.
- Samantha Tanguay tallied the win in the cage with a season high of 10 saves.
