ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – On Saturday, 29 combined runs between Pace baseball and Molloy University led to a doubleheader split for both squads. Game one favored the Setters with an 8-6 final, while game two went to the Lions, 8-7. Both teams had their way at the plate in the twin-bill, as Pace now holds a 19-17 overall record on the 2025 season.
Game One
- Runs came quickly for the Setters and Lions as a 5-4 score was left on the board after the third inning. RBIs from Mason Baronian, Benjamin Tullo, Matthew Franco, Josh Miller, and Luke Rivara drove Pace to a one-run lead in the rapid start to the contest.
- After both offenses quieted down in the fifth and sixth, Pace's bats woke up again in the top of the seventh. A sacrifice fly-out from Rivara gave the Setters a 6-4 lead moving into the bottom of the seventh.
- Despite the two-run advantage on the road, Molloy inched their way back into the contest with a two-run seventh, bringing a 6-6 tie into the next inning. In the eighth, the Setters pushed home two runs behind a long home run from Baronian, putting them on top 8-6.
- In the eighth and ninth innings, Eric Santaella kept the Lions' bats in check, leading to an 8-6 victory in the opening game of the doubleheader.
Game Two (7 innings)
- In game two, the Lions leaped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning, leaving a three-run deficit for the Setters. Slowly, Pace crawled back into the contest, producing runs in the fourth and fifth innings to bring the score to 3-2, moving into the sixth.
- Kickstarted by a solo home run from Benjamin Tullo, the Setters had an immense inning that saw five runs cross the plate. A three-run round-tripper from Rivara helped the Blue and Gold gain control, 7-3, moving into the bottom of the sixth.
- Despite the late charge from the Setters' offense, Molloy responded with a five-run inning of their own, putting them ahead by one run, 8-7. In the final inning, Pace had two flyouts and a pop-up, leading to a heartbreaking 8-7 loss in game two.

- Several Setters had strong efforts at the dish, with the pair of Bradyen Sweppenhiser and Tullo leading the way, posting four hits each.
