PLEASANTVILLE, NY - #8 Women's Lacrosse hosted #25 Mercy University at Northwell Stadium for a non-conference match on Wednesday evening.

The Setters were able to bounce back into the winners bracket after posting seven unanswered goals in the second half to topple the Mavericks, 16-12, to improve to 12-3 overall.
Here's What Happened:
- The first half of play was a clean slate between the two teams where Mercy held a one goal advantage after the opening stanza, 3-2, but was equalized by the halfway point, 5-5.
- Gigi Genovese opened the scoring feat of the game on a free position shot, followed by a Mercy goal off their own free position attempt, 1-1. Mercy took a two-goal lead with just four minutes remaining in the first quarter, 3-1, but Maddie Schubert put one more for the Blue and Gold to enter the second trailing by one, 3-2.
- Pace scored three goals in the second quarter by Mackenzie Carita's equalizer goal followed by Schubert and Genovese for the 5-5 draw after one full half.
- The third and fourth quarter was dominated by the Setters when they posted seven consecutive goals with no response from Mercy until the middle of the fourth. Annie Sheehan started the second half with a goal and the offensive push extended the Setter lead to six by the seven minute mark in the fourth, 14-8.
- With the Mavericks recorded four goals in the final stanza in an attempt to cut back into the lead, the Blue and Gold already were on their way to the non-conference victory when the final buzzer sounded with a 16-12 score favoring the hosts.
Box Score Insights:
- Genovese led all scorers in the night with five goals while recording two caused turnovers. Schubert and Carita both tallied five points on three goals and two assists.
- Abigail O'Connor featured two goals of her own and Nikki Mottes added to assists.
- Alyssa Wolf and Sarah Scheidel had three caused turnovers apiece to lead the defensive charge for the Setters.
