PLEASANTVILLE, NY - #7 Pace Women's Lacrosse hosted their senior day celebration during the Northeast-10 match up against Saint Michael's College Saturday afternoon at Northwell Stadium.
The Blue and Gold highlighted their four seniors,
Payton Durkin,
Alyssa Dvorznak,
Gigi Genovese, and
Nikki Mottes, on their careers as a Setter prior to the first draw of the day. After the final buzzer sounded, the Setters took the 17-4 victory and improved to 11-3 overall and 7-1 in NE10.
Here's What Happened:
- Pace started the contest with four unanswered goals from Annie Sheehan, Mottes, and Dvorznak, 4-0, and when Mottes tallied her second of the frame, the Purple Knights were on the board to close out the first quarter with a 5-1 Pace lead.
- Mackenzie Carita extended the host lead to five, 6-1, to ignite the second quarter, but throughout the stanza, the Purple Knights found the back of the net three times for their largest scoring feat of the day. Despite the offensive efforts of the opposer, Pace piled on another four goals for the 10-4 advantage at the half.
- Throughout the second half of play, the Setters held the Purple Knights scoreless and recorded 6 goals collectively to pave their way to a conference victory. Pace featured scoring points from Carita, Genovese, Dvorznak, Maddie Schubert and Anna Cuccio during the half and secured the 17-4 win.
Box Score Insights:
- Mottes recorded the highest point value of the team with eight on three goals and five assists while Genovese led all scorers with four goals.
- Carita ended with three goals and two assists for five points and the squad witnessed the first collegiate career goal for Durkin when she found the back of the net in the second quarter.
- Dvorznak ended with two goals for a career best and Sasha Kulo led the charge with nine draw controls.
- Marissa Doty posted three caused turnovers and three ground balls and freshman goalie, Elsa Branco, recorded the win in cage with five saves.

#7 Pace Women's Lacrosse will maintain home turf advantage for the remainder of the regular season schedule. They will return to Northwell Stadium on Wednesday, Apr. 16, for a 7:00 p.m. game versus #25 Mercy University in a non-conference contest.
