In the event, the Setters were upended in the second half of play and dropped for the first time in conference action this season 9-12.

Here's What Happened:
  • Gigi Genovese got the Blue and Gold going to ignite the night with a swift goal to lead the Chargers, 1-0. At the end of the first quarter, Carita tallied the career point value for the 3-2 advantage.
  • New Haven posted consecutive goals in the second frame to take their first lead of the day, 4-3, and even after the Setters' offensive efforts, the Chargers maintained a one goal advantaged, 5-4. The trio of Marissa Doty, Carita, and Mottes recorded unanswered goals to enter halftime with a 7-5 advantage.
  • Coming out of the half, it was the Chargers who had the upper hand when they held Pace to nil in which enabled New Haven to tally three goals for the 8-7 lead with one stanza remaining.

Mottes found the back of the nets once more off a free position in an attempt to slash the Charger lead, but another point on the opposite end continued to push the Blue and Gold back into a three-goal deficit, 11-8.
