PLEASANTVILLE, NY – Pace Softball (8-8) captured a pair of wins in the doubleheader sweep on Saturday afternoon after toppling Dominican (N.Y.) 5-4 and 14-1 respectively.
Game One
The Setters held a 3-1 advantage through six innings of play and the Chargers battled in the top of the seventh to record three runs for the 4-3 lead change.
Brianna Shea's heroic at-bat with two outs propelled the Blue and Gold in front for the 5-4 game one victory.
Here's What Happened
- Pace was swift with their 3-0 lead after the bottom half of the first with Riley Jenkins bringing in the first of the day, followed by an RBI at bat by Raelle Gorman.
- By the fourth inning, the Chargers secured their first run on a sacrifice fly, 3-1, and during the top of the seventh, they snagged their first lead of the day, 4-3, on two back-to-back RBI hits.
- With the last licks, the Blue and Gold recorded a pair of base runners with two outs. Willa Poplawski singled on a hard hit to shortstop to load the bases for Gorman who drew in the tying run, 4-4, on a walk.
- Shea stepped into the batter's box with bases still loaded and eventually made contact and drove the ball into deep right field for the 5-4 walk-off win.

Game Two
The Setters posted a commanding 14-1 game two victory over the Chargers through 5-innings of play and Borino led the Blue and Gold with a cycle going 4-4 at the plate with four RBI.
Here's What Happened
- Borino started her cycle performance with a lead-off home run in the bottom of the first, 1-0, on the first pitch of the second contest.
- A massive five-run second inning for the Blue and Gold started with Mikayla Hughes and Kaylee Matsuda posting singles then being drawn in by Borino for the 3-0 lead. The Chargers recorded four errors throughout the frame allowing the Setters to go on to record a total of five runs in the second and lead 6-0.
- Just like the second, Hughes kicked off the third inning for the squad with a double then Borino drew her in with a triple, 7-0. The inning featured six runs on five hits throughout and the Blue and Gold held a 12-0 advantage.
- The Chargers were able to tally a run of their own in the top of the fourth, but it was not enough to surpass the Setter's hot swings as Pace defeated their opponents 14-1.

- Aside from Borino's plate success, the Blue and Gold were backed by Hughes going 2-3 with a double, Gorman going 2-4 with an RBI, and Jenkins going 2-4.
