Setters Fall to No. 10 West Chester in Final Game of Road Trip

CARY, N.C. – On Sunday morning, Pace baseball faced their first ranked opponent of the 2025 season, No. 10 West Chester University of Pennsylvania. During the contest down in Cary, N.C., the Setters fell 14-3 in a nine-inning affair.

The loss brings the squad back to .500 on the season as they ride an even 3-3 record back home to Pleasantville, N.Y.

Here's what happened
  • An eight-run inning from West Chester helped lean the score toward the Rams, 8-0, early on in the contest. The Setters' bats did not produce a run until the fifth inning behind an error.
  • The run made the score 8-1 in favor of the Golden Rams, and in the bottom of the fifth and sixth, more runs increased Pace's deficit to 10-1.
  • Runs in both the seventh and eighth inning from Pace trimmed West Chester's advantage to 11-3, but the game remained out of reach.
  • A three-run bottom of the eighth for the Golden Rams closed the door on the Setters, leading to a 14-3 final on the day.

  • At the dish, the trio of Anthony Labita (2-for-3), Dominic Rivara (3-for-4), and Luke Rivara (2-for-4, 1 RBI) supplied multi-hit efforts on the day.
