LA MIRADA, CA. – On Tuesday afternoon, RV Pace softball met Biola University of California for a doubleheader match-up in La Mirada, CA. In the doubleheader, Pace fell in both games dropping the first contest, 2-1, and the second, 5-2.
With three straight losses, the Blue and Gold move to .500 on the season as they take a 6-6 record into the final game of their Southern California tour.
Here's What Happened
- In game one of the twin-bill match-up, the Setters tallied the first run with a Willa Poplawski single down the left field line. Neither side posted a run until the fourth inning when Biola evened up the score off a single to right field.
- Heading into the fifth, the Setters were all square with the Eagles, 1-1, as Gisselle Garcia cruised in the circle striking out eight batters through four innings. Both pitchers dominated the game throughout the final innings and the game moved to extra innings.
- Following a scoreless eighth, Biola put the game in the books in the ninth with a home run to center field.
- In game two of the doubleheader, the Setters trailed by four runs after the third inning leaving a substantial deficit to overcome. Despite two runs in the final three innings, the Blue and Gold fell in the concluding game of the doubleheader, 6-2.
