WALTHAM, MA - Pace Women's Basketball went head-to-head with No. 4 Bentley University Wednesday evening in Waltham, MA.
The Falcons held the 30-16 advantage over the Setters after one half of play and ultimately handed Pace the 64-41 Northeast-10 (NE10) loss.
Here's What Happened:
- After a 6-0 opening run for the host, Katumina Mansaray ignited the Blue and Gold scoring offense with a jumper followed by a Shanice Sinclair bucket in the paint, 6-4. After the eighth Setter point, on a lay-in from Tower Lorde, the Falcons confined the squad for the remainder of the quarter for the 17-8 lead.
- Pace recorded eight points once more in the second quarter with buckets from Lorde, Victoria Dieguez, and Morgan Ryan, however, the efforts fell short when they entered halftime trailing by 14, 30-16.
- The third quarter was the time for Ciara Collins to make her presence on the hardwood known. She recorded three consecutive buckets to start the third in a valiant effort to get the Setters back into the game.
- By the fourth, the Falcons were out in front by 21, 48-26, but this is where the Setters had their best scoring performance of the night. Collins, Ciara Mulleady, Mari Lee and Davionna Phillips paved the way for the Blue and Gold for a combined 15 points.
- By the final buzzer, the Setters fell to the nationally ranked Falcons, 64-41, and they drop to 12-11 overall and 8-7 in the NE10.
