WORCESTER, MA – Pace Women's Basketball capped off their regular season schedule on the road versus Assumption University in Massachusetts Tuesday evening.
After the Blue and Gold defeated the Greyhounds earlier in the year, 67-61, Assumption secured their redemption in the 53-41 defeat of the Setters as they wrap up their regular season with a 13-15 overall and 9-11 Notheast-10 (NE10) record.
Here's What Happened:
- Pace got off to a slow start to kick off the night with the Greyhounds featuring a 10-2 run and the first quarter ending with the squad trailing 10-5.
- Shanice Sinclair led the charge in the first quarter with each of the five markers for the Blue and Gold, but within the second quarter, Tower Lorde, Morgan Ryan, and Victoria Dieguez had a hand in the offensive edge as they entered the halfway point down 25-13.
- Coming out of the half, Pace had the hot hand when they raked in 17 points ignited by Katumina Mansaray's consecutive buckets. Despite the energy shift within the Setters, they trailed by at most 15 points in the third and ended trailing by 11, 41-30, before the fourth.
- Arianna Stockinger posted the first bucket of the final stanza for the Setters just after the sixth minute mark, 47-32, followed by the scoring efforts of Mansaray and Sinclair. Due to the icy Pace first half, the Setters dropped 53-41 in the night capping off their regular season with a defeat.
Box Score Insights:
- Sinclair led all Setter scorers with 12 points and three assists while Lorde ended with 11 points, six rebounds, and three steals.
