No. 16 Men’s Basketball Suffers Setback to No. 15 Adelphi

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – In a battle of top 25 teams, No. 16 Pace men's basketball dropped their fifth in-conference game of the year falling to Adelphi, 74-63, on Wednesday evening. Adelphi claimed the Northeast-10 (NE10) Conference No. 1 seed heading into the postseason while Pace fell to 21-5 overall, and 13-5 in the NE10.

Here's What Happened
  • The Blue and Gold came out of the gates with all the momentum on their home floor. An early 12-1 lead favored the Setters as the Panthers trailed by double-digits only six minutes into the game.
  • Despite the early charge, Adelphi answered back and captured the lead before halftime, 29-25.
  • In the second half, both sides fought back and forth and it seemed the contest was destined to go down to the wire. With six minutes remaining the Setters and Panthers found themselves all square at 53.
  • Led by a 9-0 run in under three minutes, Adelphi built a strong advantage, 63-54, over the Setters which was enough to fend off the home squad. Down the final stretch of the NE10 clash, the Panthers kept the pressure leading to a 74-63 loss for the Blue and Gold.
