Setters Stumble in Close Matchup Against Franklin Pierce

RINDGE, NH – Pace Women's Basketball traveled to Rindge, NH to play Franklin Pierce University for a Northeast-10 (NE10) match up Saturday afternoon.

The trio of Arianna Stockinger, Katumina Mansaray, and Ciara Collins led the offensive push for the Setters, but their efforts came up short when they Ravens secured the 63-61 victory.

Here's What Happened:
  • After one quarter of play, the Blue and Gold held a 18-12 advantage, however, it was a high scoring second that allowed the Ravens to flip the script for a two-point lead over Pace, 35-33, by halftime.
  • Throughout the second half, the Setters needed to put on the defensive pressure to halt the momentum of the hosts. The Ravens shot 58% (7-12) in the third and secured 19 points compared to Setters 12 to head into the final stanza in front 54-45.
  • A low scoring fourth quarter featured 5 points for Pace and 3 for the Raves with about 2 minutes remaining in the day. A Raven shot clock violation led to a Stockinger trey, and the Setters found themselves trailing by four, 59-55.
  • Stockinger and Collins drilled back-to-back three-point buckets, but time fizzled out and the Ravens defeated the Setters, 63-61
 
Box Score Insights:
  • Stockinger led the charge with 18 points and five rebounds while Collins had 15 points, shooting 2-3 (66%) from three and three assists.
  • Mansaray was the final Setters player with double-digit points in the day with 11 and four assists.
