PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – An all-around effort from No. 18 Pace men's basketball led to a 76-58 victory at home for the Setters. Led by the duo of
Jabari Nurse (21 points) and
Josh Hopson (17 points) the Blue and Gold took down the Penmen for their 19
th win of the 2024-25 season.
The victory helps to improve Pace's record to 19-3 overall, and 11-3 in the Northeast-10.
Here's What Happened
- The Blue and Gold scorched the nets in the opening minutes jumping out to a 10-0 lead over SNHU. Despite the quick start from Pace, the Penmen responded and swiped the lead, 15-14, after an impressive comeback run.
- The first half stayed neck-and-neck until the Setters pulled away slightly with a 6-0 run to snag a 40-34 lead heading into the locker room.
- The Setters made a second-half statement with an outstanding 20-0 run ultimately leading to a 71-49 advantage. Contributions came from all over the court as Pace's dominated both sides of the floor during their season-best run.
- The Penmen had no answer to Pace's physicality leading to a 76-58 win for the home squad.
- As a team, the Setters had one of their most efficient nights from the floor all season making 50.0% (10-20) of their threes and 93.3% (14-15) of their free throws.
Box Score Insights
- Nurse continued his efficient play on the offensive end notching a career-best 21 points. The performance highlights the junior's fifth game of the year with 15 or more points.
- Hopson had his jump shot going in the contest knocking down 6-7 from the field and three from long range en route to a 17-point performance.
- Tray Alexander tied his career-high in steals posting six on the night. Along with his defensive showcase, the graduate student produced ten points and ten assists.
