PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pace University field hockey capped its home schedule in emphatic fashion on Saturday afternoon, earning a 9–1 victory over Saint Michael's College on Senior Day at Finnerty Field. With the win, the Setters improve to 7–9 overall and 6–4 in Northeast-10 Conference play.
The Blue and Gold wasted no time taking control, scoring three times in the opening quarter. Nadia Pavlik opened the scoring before Ella Tamweber struck twice in quick succession, first off a Kyleigh Kearney assist and then from a Pavlik feed to give Pace an early cushion. Feline Rook and Katelyn Fairhurst each added goals in the second quarter to make it 5–0 at halftime.
Rook tallied her second of the day early in the third before Saint Michael's scored its lone goal. Pace closed out the afternoon with three more, as Elsa Nelken and Hayley Allwood each recorded the first goals of their collegiate careers, while Romy Manditsera capped the scoring in the final minutes.
Pace controlled play throughout, out shooting Saint Michael's 39–6 and earning 17 penalty corners. Morgan Strecker played all 60 minutes in goal, finishing with four saves to secure the victory. The nine-goal performance set a new program record for the most goals scored in a single game by Pace field hockey.
Pace hits the road on Tuesday to face Southern Connecticut State University at 4:00 p.m. in New Haven, Conn.
