Three Double-Double Performances Lead No. 11 Setters Past Franklin Pierce

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Behind double-doubles from Tray Alexander, Jaden Kealey, and Jabari Nurse, No. 11 Pace men's basketball took down Franklin Pierce University, 82-71, Wednesday evening. After a close first half, the Setters pulled away from the Ravens to earn their 14th victory of the season (14-1) moving to 6-1 within the Northeast-10 (NE10).

Here's What Happened
  • After five minutes of play, the Setters held a 13-4 advantage over the Ravens following back-to-back long-range makes from Trey Boyd III. Throughout the first half, Pace continued to put pressure on the visitors on both ends of the floor leading by as much as 13 points, 28-15.
  • Franklin Pierce fought back with a 15-7 run to inch within three points of Pace, 33-30. Heading into the locker room, the Setters held a five-point lead over their in-conference opponent, 37-32.
  • To begin the second half, Boyd III tallied eight of Pace's first ten points helping extend the advantage to 47-37. The rest of the way, the Blue and Gold never let their lead shrink below seven points capitalizing on free throw attempts and fast break points.
  • A 7-0 personal run from Kealey lifted the Setters to a 13-point advantage, 74-61 and the home squad never glanced back at the Ravens. In the final minute, one final layup from Kealey put the finishing touches on Pace's victory by a final score of 82-71.

  • Kealey showcased his all-around skills notching 20 points, ten rebounds, and four assists. The NE10 leader in field goal percentage (63.5%) thrived down low making 9-of-13 attempts from the floor.
  • Alexander recorded his ninth double-double of the season (18 points, ten assists) going a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe.
  • Nurse hauled in a career-best 11 rebounds to go alongside 13 points. His performance highlights the junior's first double-double of the 2024-25 season.
  • Boyd III produced his fifth 15+ point performance of the year scoring 18 on the night with half of his points coming from behind the three-point line (3-6 3PT).
