PLEASANTVILLE, NY – Pace Women's Basketball hosted RV Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) in Goldstein Fitness Center Tuesday evening.
A hot start for the Owls allowed the opponents to capture the swift advantage to hand the Setters the 58-46 defeat.
Here's What Happened:
- The Owls opened the contest with a commanding 25-13 advantage, however, during the second, both teams were held to single digit points (32-19) and the Setters were led by Shanice Sinclair's six points followed by Morgan Ryan with four and Ciara Collins with three.
- Collins got the offense going in the second half from the charity stripe and back-to-back Katumina Mansaray buckets put the Blue and Gold within 11, 36-25.
- After the graduate student's final lay-in during the third, the Owls went on a 7-0 run to enter the final stanza holding the 43-25 advantage and went on to force the hosts in a 20-point deficit, 54-34, midway through the fourth.
- In that final frame, the Setters went 10-12 from the line to ultimately slash the Owl lead to 12, 56-44, but the opponents came out victorious 58-46.
Box Score Insights:
- Arianna Stockinger paced the squad with 11 points, seven rebounds, and one block while Sinclair had 10 points.
- Mansaray tallied eight points and led with five helpers.
- The Blue and Gold shot 83% (20-24) from the free throw line where Stockinger (6-6), Collins (4-4) and Sinclair (4-4) sat perfect.
