NEW HAVEN, CT - Pace Women's Basketball (6-7/2-3 NE10) ignited the new year with a Northeast-10 (NE10) road match up with RV Southern Connecticut State University on Thursday evening.
The Setters were defeated 72-47 in the event and
Mari Lee featured her best outing thus far in her collegiate career with 13 points coming off the bench.
Here's What Happened:
- Katumina Mansaray and Shanice Sinclair tallied the first few points for the Blue and Gold and led the Owls 3-2 to start the game. As soon as the hosts took the 5-3 advantage, they would record 20 more points for the first quarter to lead the Setters by 10, 23-13.
- With Pace being held to just eight points in the second quarter, they would enter halftime sitting in a 23 point deficit, 44-21. Despite recording 21 points to open the second half, the Owls still piled on 17 and continued to edge the Setters.
- By the final stanza, Pace trailed 63-42. Lee and Mansaray led the team throughout the final minutes, but the squad fell short and was defeated, 72-47 for a 2-3 NE10 record.
Box Score Insights:
- Lee led all scorers with 13 points and Mansaray was right behind with nine.
- Arianna Stockinger posted 8 points and led the team on the boards with six. Ciara Collins posted seven points and Sinclair and Tower Lorde had five markers apiece.
