PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Friday evening, Pace volleyball sparked their 2024 regular season with a win over Saint Thomas Aquinas (STAC) at the Goldstein Fitness Center.
Here's What Happened
- In a back-and-forth first set, the Setters found momentum late with a six-point run to take the opening set 25-15.
- Pace kept up the pressure against the Spartans in the second set. With a 17-13 lead the Setters strung together four straight points behind two kills from Yasmeen Muhammad. The rally helped the Setters take control and they closed out the set 25-17.
- In the final set, seven straight points for the Setters gave them momentum 14-9. However, the Spartans managed to close the gap with a 7-4 run to bring the score within two 18-16.
- After a late push in the final set from the visitors, a service error from STAC marked the final points of the evening with Pace taking a 3-0 win in their season opener.

- The duo of Karielys Melendez and Muhammad led the charge for the Setters as they both tallied eight kills on the night.
