LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Pace volleyball dropped a seesaw battle against Georgian Court University, 2-3, Monday night on the road. Following the loss, the Blue and Gold move to 5-4 overall with their first in-conference match-up just around the corner.
Here's What Happened
- The Setters began the night with an 8-4 run against the Lions in the opening set. Pace extended the lead to as much as 12 points before taking a 25-19 win.
- In set two, the Setters continued the pressure, jumping out to a 10-6 lead. Behind five kills from Abby Robertson, Pace cruised to a 25-17 win taking a 2-0 advantage in the match.
- The Lions found momentum early in the third set with a 9-1 run. The deficit was too large for the Setters to overcome as they dropped the third set, 11-25.
- The Lions forced the match into the fifth set grabbing a 7-3 lead early. With their back against the wall, the Setters fought back taking a 15-14 advantage. However, Georgian Court closed out on a 4-1 run to sneak past the Setters in the deciding set, 18-16.
