FLUSHING, NY - Pace Women's Soccer (1-3-2) hit the road to Flushing, NY Tuesday evening for a non-conference match up with the Queens College (NY) Knights.
The Setters tallied nine shots in the second half of play as they trailed by one from an early host goal, but was ultimately upended by the Knights for the 1-0 defeat.
Here's What Happened:
- Queens started off the night with the hot foot when they immediately recorded four shots in a 10-minute span and held the Setters to nil. Just under the 20-minute mark, the Knights recorded their lone goal of the contest for the 1-0 advantage over Pace.
- Prior to the end of the first half, Kelly DuBois and Ava Viebrock recorded a shot on goal, however, to no avail in sneaking it behind the keeper.
- The Setters opened the second half similar to how Queens ignited the first, four shots out of the gate and three of them being on goal. As time started to dwindle, Viebrock gave one more attempt for the draw with a shot at the 88th minute and the squad fell short to the Knights, 1-0.
Box Score Insights:
- Viebrock led the Setters with five shots and Keely Donovan had two.
- The Setter keepers collectively saved eight shots, two of them from Anna Fiore and eight from Annabella Cole.
- The Knights out-shot the Setters 16-11.
