PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Pace Women's Soccer hosted their home opener under the lights at Northwell Stadium versus the Jefferson Rams Wednesday evening.
With a scoreless first half, both teams opened the second itching to find the back of the net and it was the Rams to accomplish that feat. By the end of the contest, the Setters ultimately fell to the Rams for the 1-0 loss and a 0-2-1 record after their first three games of the season.
Here's What Happened:
- Setter keeper, Anna Fiore, made her presence known in goal when she kept the Rams off the scoreboard with three saves in the first. The Rams out-shot the hosts 8-1.
- It didn't take long for the first goal of the game to be recorded in the second half. By the 48th minute, the Rams were granted a free kick opportunity where Fiore made an incredible touch to keep the ball out of net. However, a bounce out of Fiore's reach found the foot of an opposer and Jefferson was on the board 1-0.
- Pace attempted a comeback with three shots soon after, one on goal, but to no avail for the draw.

The Setters will wrap up their schedule with the Central Atlantic Collegaite Conference (CACC) on Saturday, Sept. 14, when they hit the road to Wilmington, D.E. to play Goldey-Beacom College at 3:30pm.
