Stockinger’s Career-High 23 points Lifts Setters Over Saint Michael’s

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – On Saturday afternoon, the Pace University Women's Basketball team took care of business against Saint Michael's College, 65-41, at the Goldstein Fitness Center. With the win, the Setters improve to 15-6, and 9-6 within the Northeast-10.

A defensive battle in the first half brought the score to 21-20 with Pace ahead by one. After a low-scoring first half, the Setters found momentum in the third quarter behind a 16-8 run. Arianna Stockinger and Ciara Collins lead the push for the Blue and Gold as the pair tallied six points each in the quarter.

Building on their solid play in the third quarter, Pace outscored Southern Connecticut State 23-8 in the final quarter. Highlighted by Stockinger's 11 fourth-quarter points, the Setters built a substantial lead over Saint Michael's in a dominant 24-point victory, 65-41. The win marks the largest margin of victory of the season for Pace.

The Setter's productive fourth quarter ended up as the difference maker as the home squad made an impressive 9-12 (75%) from the floor to fend off Southern Connecticut State. Pace managed 45.5 percent from the field compared to the Owls' 32.6 percent.

The Setters offense was highlighted by Stockinger, who matched her career-best with 23 points on 9-13 (69.2%) from the field. It marks Stockinger's first 20-point performance of the year, as the junior guard continues to reach new heights in scoring with 18 or more in three straight games.

Following behind was MacKenzie Martin with 14 points and Collins who added 11. Martin brought down a season-high in the rebound department with eight boards.

The Setters are back in action Wednesday evening on the road against Southern Connecticut State University.
