PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Behind 20 points from
Jaden Kealey, Pace basketball was propelled to its sixth straight victory to begin the 2024-25 season defeating the University of Bridgeport, 87-67. Alongside Kealey,
Tray Alexander notched 16 points and 16 assists surpassing 1,000 total points in his collegiate career.
With the 20-point win on their home court, the Blue and Gold improve to 6-0 overall, and remain 2-0 in the Northeast-10.
Here's What Happened
- In the first five minutes, the Setters built an early lead, 12-2, after Trey Boyd III knocked down two shots from behind the arc. Momentum stayed on the home team's side in the opening half with shots falling from all over the court.
- Back-to-back fast break dunks from Kealey lifted the Setters to a 17-point advantage, 40-23. The Blue and Gold finished the half strong holding a 47-33 lead over the Purple Knights.
- Their 47-point half marks the third time this season that Pace has tallied 45 or more points in a half.
- To open the second half, long-range makes from Boyd and Jabari Nurse extended Pace's lead to 53-35. Six second-half assists from Alexander fueled the Blue and Gold down the stretch with the lead growing to as large as 24 points, 65-41.
- In the final minutes, Pace remained persistent down low cruising to an 87-67 victory for their sixth straight to kick off the year.

- In a night where 1,000 career points were reached, Alexander shined on the offensive end posting 16 points with a season-high of 14 assists and four steals. Alexander accounted for 16 of Pace's 21 helpers in the contest.
- Kealey was effective inside the paint for the Setters nailing 7-of-8 field goals to reach a season-high 20 points alongside seven rebounds and two steals. The junior continues to reach new heights in the scoring department as he has tallied 12 or more points in each contest this season.
- Making 5-of-7 shots from the field, Nurse notched his fifth double-digit scoring performance with 15 points. Along with his play on offense, Nurse tallied three steals continuing his six-game stretch of at least 2 or more steals per game.
- As a team, the Setters made 54.4% of their field goals compared to Bridgeport's 37.3%.
- Points off turnovers made a huge difference for the home squad as Pace racked up 28 compared to the Purple Knights' ten.
The Setters will have a full week off of the court before their next match-up on Nov. 30 at 3:00 p.m. against Felician University.
