PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Tuesday evening at the Goldstein Fitness Center, Pace volleyball dropped its in-conference match-up to the University of New Haven, 3-0. The Blue and Gold were outmatched in three sets dropping to 11-9 overall, and 5-4 in the Northeast-10.
With one game remaining on the 2024 regular season schedule Pace sits in the fifth seed within the conference.
Here's What Happened
- In the first set, the Setters kept stride with the Chargers and trailed by one, 16-15. Back-to-back points made it 20-18 with Pace behind however, New Haven strung together four straight points to turn the tables as they took set one, 25-19.
- Set two seemed out of reach for the home squad as they fell behind 15-9. A 5-0 run brought the Blue and Gold back into the set but the Chargers answered back with a 6-0 run of their own. Eventually, Pace fell 25-17 in set two moving into set three down 2-0.
- Despite a strong effort in the final set, the Chargers held the momentum for the majority of the set winning 25-17. Three separate 3-0 rallies from New Haven decided the match as the Setters fell in their final home contest.
