Setters Upended Early by Falcons for NE10 Defeat

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - Pace Football returned to Northwell Stadium Saturday afternoon for a Northeast-10 (NE10) Conference match with Bentley University. Pace Athletics also hosted their Pace Goes Pink event in an effort to raise funds for the Northwell Health Cancer Institute and Katz Institue at Northern Westchester and Phelps Hospitals.

The Setters were held to nil in the first quarter of play while the Falcons tallied a touchdown and ultimately ended the first half leading the hosts 17-7. By the end of regulation, the Setters were defeated 31-16.

Here's What Happened:
  • The first points of the game happened well into the first quarter when Bentley went on a 17 play drive for the first touchdown of the day, 7-0. By the second half, the Falcons continued to pile onto their lead with a field goal while the Setters remained scoreless, 10-0.
  • Ah-Shaun Davis cut into the opponent's lead when he threw a 20-yard pass to Tyreek Smith and began to chip away at the deficit, 10-7. However, Bentley laid out a saftey net when they recorded another touchdown to enter intermission leading the Setters, 17-7.
  • After the conclusion of the third quarter, the Setters found themselves falling further behind, 31-7, as the final 15 minutes were about to begin. This quarter displayed the largest point value for the squad with nine on a Dylan Squillacioti 47-yard field goal and another Davis touchdown, but this time to Teddy Harper, 31-16.
  • Despite the late offensive momentum from the hosts, the Falcons ran away with the NE10 win.
