Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Viebrock Scores In Final Seconds to Tie With Owls

PLEASANTVILLE, NY - Pace Women's Soccer is nearing the end of their regular season schedule and with two home games left at Northwell Stadium, the Setters hosted Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) Tuesday evening.

In what was an uneventful first half with both teams remaining scoreless, the second half kept you on the edge of your seat as the Owls held the 1-0 advantage to start the half, but in the final seconds, the Setters tied it up for the 1-1 draw.

Here's What Happened:
  • The Owls led the opening regulation minutes with seven shots compared to the Setters three. Goalkeepers on both ends were able to get their hands on at least one shot each, Annabella Cole making two in the first, to force a clean slate second half.
  • By the 51st-minute of the second half, the Owls were on the board first and it looked like they were about to hand the Setters the Northeast-10 (NE10) Conference loss. Don't count the blue and gold out yet.
  • With Hildur Unnarsdóttir having a free kick opportunity, the ball made its way in front of the goal and ultimately found the foot of Ava Viebrock with less than 10-seconds remaining on the clock.
  • Time was minimal and the night ended in a 1-1 draw for the Setters record to be 2-6-5 overall and 0-3-4 NE10.
